You can’t save every set of vintage tuners, but every now and then it works out. A little bit of grease goes a long way. A young 20-something wannabe tech saw this and said, “You can’t put grease on guitar tuners!” I don't know, bro, seems to work well with cars. LMFAO!!!!

When you go to install a neck that doesn't match a body and the fretboard shelf is nearly a quarter inch off the face of the top. Fun times, guys, fun times!
Wow! That's high! You're looking at the action at the first fret while checking nut slot height. You can do that by pressing strings at the third fret and checking the distance between the strings and first fret. As a rule, the height should be about half the thickness of the given string you're testing. And as you can see, this is more than half the string diameter. Not bad for a guitar that costs over $4k. LMFAO

Well, this was fun! Epiphone guitars aren't half-bad lately: this Amos V sounds awesome! But the tuners were severely lacking before it came to me. Not even 4 months in, and the A tuner had failed; the others weren't feeling so good, either. A set from Gotoh made all the difference. So what's next? No idea. Maybe we'll stick a Floyd in this piece of sh*t! LMFAO!!!!
Some scratches can't be "compounded" out: that's when you need to sand things back to make it right.
